Students Learn About Autism Awareness and Acceptance
Ms. Tapria, Cooper’s Poynt School Social Worker, visited Archway Programs to lead a conversation about Autism Awareness and Acceptance. Students discussed making positive choices, recognizing that everyone is different, and understanding that those differences can bring something unique and meaningful to the classroom and their friendships.
The lesson emphasized that autism presents differently in every individual—no two people on the spectrum are the same in how they think, communicate, or experience the world. Students were encouraged to learn more about autism, practice patience and kindness, and be supportive friends to one another.
The message was simple but powerful: understanding leads to inclusion, and inclusion helps build stronger, more compassionate communities.
